  2.          ME AND MY COMMODORE

  6.     In 1976 in high school, I was
  7. introduced to the world of computers
  8. using a teletype terminal. Playing
  9. text based games on that hooked me on
  10. computers.
  11.  
  12.     In Nov. of 1982, right after the
  13. C-64 came out, I was introduced to the
  14. C-64 by a maintenance engineer. He and
  15. his friends had compared several of
  16. the computer brands and models and
  17. concluded that the C-64 was the best
  18. buy. After tape loading several games
  19. (eg. Monopole), I was hooked! I began
  20. saving my money and finally had my own
  21. a year later. Being a fan of the video
  22. game Donkey Kong, that was my first
  23. software purchase when I bought the
  24. C-64. Since the C-64 version of DK was
  25. better than any other emulation of the
  26. original, the C-64 was the obvious
  27. choice for me.

  29.     While I bought it for the games, I
  30. was immediately learning to program in
  31. BASIC.

  33.     Adding a printer, EasyScript and
  34. Superbase turned it into a real-world
  35. workhorse for my church. When I became
  36. treasurer in 1984, Vizastar made my
  37. new SX-64 a lean mean Lotus 1-2-3-like
  38. machine.

  40.     In 1992 I joined SWRAP which
  41. enhanced my C= computing 10 times with
  42. the aid of fellow Commodore friends.

  44.     My system was eventually replaced
  45. with a 128D running GEOS with a
  46. PostScript printer in 1992. Wheels and
  47. all the CMD goodies made it a 'Super'
  48. computer all the way up to today.
